Brief Summary

In Wakra / Qatar a modern school with full facilities and utilities including (7,000 square meter car park). Client has retained NabtakerEngineering to conduct a CFD Analysis in two scenarios in order to verify the mechanical ventilation system’s performance and its ability to remove the generated smoke within the requirement of QCDD (Qatar Civil Defence Department) and NFPA.

Scope of Work

To check and confirm the performance of Mechanical Ventilation System (smoke management); if the smoke produced by fire is evacuated within 30 mins by using CFD analysis (FDS Model) as per QCDD Requirements in two different scenarios:

  • In case the fire is happened in the LEFT SIDE of the car park, fans in the left side will be acted as exhaust points.
  • In case the fire is happened in the RIGHT SIDE of the car park, fans in the right side will be acted as exhaust points.

Ballroom in Four Seasons Hotel

Location: Doha, Qatar

Brief Summary

An existing Ballroom in 5 Stars Hotel in Doha / Qatar requires a smoke management system to be operated in case of fire and to meet the requirement of QCDD (Qatar Civil Defence Department ) and internation standard NFPA. A proposal had been put and NabtakerEngineering has been retained to conduct a CFD Analysis to verify its performance and ability to remove the generated smoke within the requirement of QCDD and NFPA.

Scope of Work

To check and confirm the performance a new Mechanical Ventilation System (smoke management) by using CFD Analysis (FDS Model). The Make up Air was proposed to be through existing decorative slot openings at the ceiling. Results were complied if the evacuation of the smoke and temperature profile will be as per QCDD Requirements.
